Every evening at about 8PM a good few of our neighbours meet on the green in front of my house. They all bring their dogs with them. Some of the dogs are very big and some of them are small like my dog Fifi. It is very funny to watch them all running around and playing with each other and we are all laughing at their tricks. My favourite dog is Lilly even though she is very big she is only one year old. I dont know if we will do this when winter comes but for now this is Summer in my Area.

Summer in my local area.
When there is warm weather me and my family we like to cycle to Mornington beach. Mornington beach has a lot of history. In Mornington there's a tower called 'Maiden's tower'. Tower was built by a single woman to see a man who she really loved coming back from a long battle. This woman fell off 'maiden's tower' devastated with a thought that her loved one is dead. The reason why I like Mornington beach is because the water is clear and blue . I really like sand on the ground of this beach. Swimming there is always refreshing on a hot summer day. Swimming gives me strength to get on my bike and cycle back home. It is great exercise and a lot of fun too Summer in my local area
I live in Mornington Manor and I’m quite lucky to be very close to a beautiful beach. For me Summer is walking on the beach and in the dunes, playing games with my dog Ghost and spending time with my Man and Dad. I like jumping and bouncing on my trampoline and sometimes my dog Ghost also gets on to the trampoline will start to bark loudly. The worst thing about summer in my local area is the terrible littering. People should use the bins or bring their rubbish home. Thank you for reading Summer Where I Live
I enjoy the summer because I live really close to the beach and I am able to cycle there and play. I enjoy cycling because I get fresh air and exercise and enjoy the lovely country scenery near where I live. I cycle under trees that are like a tunnel and past fields with wild flowers. I love the beach because I can play in the sand dunes and lie down in the sun and relax, my two brothers help me explore the dunes and run around, mum and dad lie down in the sun while we have great fun… ‘’SUMMER IN MY LOCAL AREA’
For me the sign of summer is the beach. The picture above shows my local beach in Bettystown. The feelings and experiences felt in the beach during the summer are always fantastic. It is undoubtedly a fantastic place for family to have a fun. You can build your own unique sand castle, you can play in the water, you can have a sunbathe, you can bring your dog for a walk and you can do lots of other things on the beach. I like to observe the birds on the beach and I like to play with my friend and parents hide and seek in the bushes around the beach. I like to collect some shells for fun as well. The beach has a perfect view in daylight and at night time. It is a place that I would love to be at all the times. This week the lads have the option to take a picture or pictures that encapsulate what Summer is like in their local area. To give the lads an idea, I took the photo below while out for a walk on the ramparts between Navan and Stackallen. The River is the Boyne and when the restrictions are over it is somewhere I would recommend going for a walk. The water is clear (You can see the bottom in some parts) and the fish were jumping out of the water. All of the trees are in full bloom and the path which is quite muddy in winter time has dried up. Plenty animals can be seen on the route ranging from ducks, herons to squirrels. I cant wait to see your entries. Happy snapping!
Good Afternoon!
I hope you are all safe and well and enjoying the beautiful weather we are lucky to have at the moment. I hope all of the boys are doing well too. The work this week is different to previous weeks. I have not given any Maths or Reading Zone. I have given work on Water Safety and there is a link on the class blog to interactive lessons. I think it is very important that this gets covered in some way. I have also given a piece of work entitled "Summer in my Local Area". What I am asking for here is that the boys take a photograph of a scene or a thing (Animal/ Bird etc) that they think encapsulates what summer is like in their local area. When they have done that I would ask them to explain why they picked that picture in no more than 100 words. Then if they could email it to me and I will put it on the class blog. If they could send it in by Friday sometime that would be great. We might even have a small competition depending on the number of entries. That is all for now. Happy snapping! Enjoy the good weather and take care. Kind Regards, Mr Lynch Below is suggested daily work for the boys to do. There is no pressure on anyone to get it done. I will include other work at the bottom that you can also do. Again this is all optional. There is no pressure on anyone to get it done. Please feel free to send in any questions, enquiries, pictures or comments to [email protected] with your name in the subject title. All emails are for corresponding between teachers and parents/guardians. Keep an eye on http://mrlynchrealtnamara.weebly.com/ for further updates!
